Unfortunately we had to cancel our March session due to adverse weather conditions. Safety of our volunteers is paramount and because of heavy snow and ice it was considered too risky to proceed. Apologies to anyone who turned up having not received notice of the cancellation.

Our next meet has been changed from 8th April to Saturday 22nd April meeting at 10am in the car park. This is due to the original date being the Easter weekend when most of our organisers are away.

As usual gardening tools are provided but feel free to bring your own – also please don’t forget the gardening gloves and sturdy footwear. Refreshments will be provided when we finish.

Future dates are as follows:

Saturday 20th May which is our annual plant sale at 9.30am (on the third Saturday)

Saturday 10th June at 10am

Saturday 8th July at 10am

What a great turnout for our February meeting – thanks to all our regulars, students and welcome to our new volunteers.

We spent most of our time clearing ditches to get the water flowing freely – messy work but well worth the effort!

Our next session is Saturday 11th March meeting at 10am in the car park. 

As usual gardening tools are provided but feel free to bring your own – also please don’t forget the gardening gloves and sturdy footwear – there’s been a lot of rain so prepare for muddy conditions!!

We had a fantastic turnout for our October meeting – as well as our regulars we had members of the Meanwood Scouts and the Leeds University Conservation Society. We managed to clear a large area which is now ready for planting – a big thank you to all who attended.

We’ll be concentrating on preparing the ground for bulb planting in November which will involve weeding, clearing and digging in areas along the top path.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers who helped with the plant sale in May. We made over £600 in 2 hours from the sale of plants, hot drinks and cakes. The lovely sunny weather and lots of customers made it a very successful event. Thanks as well to everyone whose baked cakes for the occasion.

We meet up again on Saturday June 11th at 10am in the main car park and will continue with general clearing work.

Tools will be provided but feel free to bring your own and remember your gardening gloves and sturdy footwear. All work is organised and supervised by the head gardener Frank and we generally work for two hours after which hot drinks and home made cakes are provided.
