New Rover Cricket Club have received a donation of 420 saplings from The Woodland Trust as part of their More Trees More Good campaign. The trees will provide natural colour and shade as well as helping to support local wildlife with food and shelter. They will all be planted along the public footpaths which skirt the cricket ground, where they can be enjoyed by everyone
The Club would like to invite Friends of The Hollies to join them at their Community Tree Planting Day between 1pm and 4pm this Saturday 17th November at the ground on Smithy Mills Lane, just off Long Causeway near the Ring Road junction.
Anyone wishing to come along and plant a tree should bring a coat, warm clothes and boots or wellies are recommended. Free warm refreshments will provided to all tree planters and the Club’s normal bar will be open to serve drinks and other snacks. Also, there will be a Christmas Tree sale in the club car park.
